Perimenopausal Helpers

Saturday, July 24th, 2010
As above, so below. Lately I’ve been fielding a lot of questions from my customers about how to fix perimenopause/menopause symptoms.  For some time now I’ve been doing battle with perimenopause. In my case, the symptoms have to do with my actual period… super-heavy to the point of filling adult urinary diapers, and very painful at that. I’m not kidding. A lot of women will go to their doctor hoping for help. I can tell you that the average medical response is to do a hysterectomy. My sister did that and the friggin’ doctor ripped EVERYTHING out… didn’t even leave her an ovary!  Okay… if it is fibroids, yes they can make things more difficult, but the fibroids leave when your uterine lining thins out for menopause. Same thing about endometriosis.
If you want to get rid of the fibroids… get the Essiac Tea. Herbal Healer Academy http://www.herbalhealer.com  sells the tea in bulk, liquid concentrate and capsules. It will take a long time, but it will work. A friend of mine with really big fibroids took this route… it took about two years to get them to totally go away drinking this tea twice a day. It works. The tea is also good for combatting just about any infection! If you feel a cold coming on, get into the Essiac!
The herb Sarsaparilla to replace progesterone… perhaps up to 3 capsules with each meal.
Another herb, called Dong Quai, is also called “women’s ginseng”. I’m trying this one out now. It is known to balance hormonal levels at all stages of life, eliminating PMS, perimenopause and menopausal symptoms, while providing benefits for overall health.

Another herb, Fo-Ti, is a youth herb… and you will need 3 capsules with each meal… really helps your energy level. I won’t do without this one. It is a youth herb… look up the history. If you take this plus two of the Swanson Vitamins Gelatin & Silicon supplement with each meal, your hair will come in thicker and darker, with a lot less gray. No kidding.
Since most of the weight gain, sleep disruption and stress during the shift into menopause stresses the adrenals, you need adrenal support. A simple solution is Red Clover, either in capsules or in tea form, or Ashwagandha, which additionally aids in weight loss.

Yet another FOOD herb called Maca boosts and optimizes the entire endocrine system, and most people feel it first in the sex drive. It isn’t an herb so much as a FOOD. You will take several tablespoons of this each day. Check around for it in loose form… you’ll go nuts trying to take that many capsules. Try making a smoothie with bananas and throwing the Maca in it each morning. You’ll know when to back off when you start looking at doorknobs and other odd objects in regard for their sexual gratification potential… I’m not kidding.

The supplements Pregnenolone and DHEA, which are precursors to the progesterone, estrogen and testosterone. I know ladies in their 70s that take up to 100 mg of the pregnenolone daily, just to feel normal and have decent energy. If you are 50, you can handle up to 50 mg of Pregnenolone and up to 25 mg of DHEA.   My last period was super bad, and I had some of this in the house. I started taking them, the sarsaparilla and using the progesterone cream/spray, and it arrested the hemmoraging in ONE DAY!  You have to feel the body on this one… it can aggravate PMS symptoms short-term. I downsized the DHEA to 20 mg.

There are various progesterone creams and a progesterone spray on the Swanson Vitamins website. You just rub it somewhere on your body… and rotate the various spots you apply it to. One time you rub it on your tummy, another on your thighs, another on the inside of your arms…  No prescription required.

I get all of this very inexpensively on http://www.swansonvitamins.com  even with the darn shipping.

Another thing… stay away from all SOY, including TVP (textured vegetable protein).  No kidding. Soybean oil prevents your body from absorbing nutrition from your food… really blocks it.  Soy in general will mess up every hormone you ever had, beginning with the thyroid hormones, and then everything else. It is an endocrine disruptor.

If you think your thyroid is running low, taken a bunch of Kelp tablets for the iodine. Swanson has some good iodine drops, too. You can tell whether your thyroid is working right… stand in front of a mirror with your arms hanging at rest at your sides… if your hands are not palms to your legs… it they slant so the palms are not parallel with your body… your thyroid is outta whack. You need the iodine.

Frickin’ Demagogue Wannabes

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Okay… being a Wiccan does not make you a witch, or vice-versa.  Having been trained for any length of time by a “medicine man” does not make you a “medicine man/woman”.  Going on a vision quest (or whatever) doesn’t make you a shaman.  Having a past-life memory is not a basis for going out and teaching some ill-considered, poorly researched, half-assed course at some new age center. Owning a tarot deck does not make you a psychic reader. Running around with a bunch of expensive electronic equipment does not make you a “paranormal researcher” or a “ghost-buster”.  Owning an auto-focus snapshot camera does not make you a professional photographer, either.

I run into people claiming to be “this and that” all the time, particularly in new age/metaphysical circles.  I’ve also noticed that many of these people seem to be on psychiatric medication.  I’m serious.  It is a shame that they apparently don’t have enough self-esteem to stand on their own, or enough integrity to do the research and gain the knowledge. I realize that all these claims come from a basis of desiring to be “special” or to stand out from the crowd. Perhaps it is the appeal of assumed authority without any responsibility attached.

What’s bad is that these sillies occasionally take the newbies (newly awakened) for a ride, often setting them back in their developmental journey.  Of course the flip side of that is the lesson of discernment. Life is, after all, one big-ass classroom.  All I can say is “keep your scopes up, kids.” I’ll try to illustrate this set of my pet peeves.

When you claim yourself as “this or that”, expect people to watch you and eventually challenge you. I ran into one woman who claimed to be a medicine woman and practicing witch, among other things.  Well… she’s on psychiatric medication, she’s physically sick, her kid is in permanent custody of her ex-in-laws because she pulled a few too many dramatic episodes on them, she cannot hang onto a committed relationship for more than a year or so, she’s a sex-addict, she’s always hurting for money, and she’s perpetually unemployed. She wants to start her own craft business, but wouldn’t work a major festival (for a commission on what she sold) with a friend who is an established vendor. The networking opportunity alone would have been worth her while.  She enjoys playing the victim and sluffing-off responsibility.  Now, does this sound like someone who is in control of her life/reality?  Would you really want this person for a teacher and what would you expect this person to teach you?  Well… actually she really is in control of her reality… but she doesn’t realize it.  I guess that’s the point. She hasn’t recognized the patterns she is in.  That’s not a “medicine woman” that’s a woman on medicine. There is a difference.

Working so many psychic fairs over the years, I’ve run into at least 4 readers who are on psychiatric medications, which says a lot for their level of development. How much of what they would have to say in a reading would you be willing to accept?  Some try to teach classes and give lectures… usually something that’s already been packaged. Some simply cannot hold a regular job. I know people who really make their living doing readings, and they’re damn good at it. It’s a whole different ballgame when a “reader” is simply trying to make some pocket change to supplement their disability payment. A good way to spot these is their assumed names.  People with integrity don’t require an alter ego to do business.

Another good way to spot a fake is to look for a bunch of fancy terminology with no real effort to explain it. A sales pitch for their upcoming megabucks course is not an appropriate explanation. The more jargon they hide behind, the more likely it will cost a lot of money to learn what the hell it is they’re talking about, and it will likely be the same old bullshit repackaged and perfumed. There are several sparkling examples of this in the Houston area. One woman literally repackaged the old “Flower of Life” merkaba course, selling it as the “Breath of Light”.   When a newbie brings up one of their names, I ask whether the mumbo-jumbo jargon puzzled them.

When looking at a possible teacher, look at the level of drama and/or quality of their life. Are they calm and serene? Are they manic and desperate? How do they react to adversity?  Is this what you want to emulate?  Can they teach you something, or will you be the teacher?  You’d be surprised at how many times I’ve given the answer to a question that a teacher couldn’t.

Granted, we’re all teachers and we’re all students. Each of us starts with a little piece of the puzzle and we have to find a way to put it all together. I’d say it’s a matter of avoiding the detours while learning the game.

No-Eyes’ Prophesies

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

The other night I was knocking around my workroom, and out popped my copy of “Phoenix Rising” by Mary Summer Rain. It is about No-Eyes’ vision about this time frame of transition we are in. Looking through the lists in the back of the book, about the various stages of the days of the phoenix… we’ve already seen a lot of the prophesies fulfilled, and we can see the bigger, nastier ones walking down the street.

* Bush is currently trying to stack the courts to become impotent to strike down bad laws or to uphold our Constitution. The Supreme Court is predicted to be making some very bad decisions in the next few years… bad enough to send people into the streets in protest.
* There’s gonna be a lot more American soldiers all over the world fighting. Terrorism, discord between countries, undeclared wars, clandestine activities, high level secrecy. It will go to a nuclear exchange (this was predicted before the invention of DU missiles) in a number of places, including U.S. soil.
* Trade deficits between nations will become crippling, and many will default on loans, leading to economic hardships, discord and saber-rattling the world over.
* Jobs are being outsourced in staggering numbers, which will cause staggering amounts of unemployment, which will cause waves of consumers to default on loans. The post-9/11 cheap credit spending frenzy is coming back to roost. The financial PACs are already lobbying to make it impossible to file for bankruptcy. If enough people lose their jobs, then real estate will lose its value.
* Excessive taxation, particulary of the people who can least afford to pay. The Republicans have been overreaching on all levels. In Texas, Gov. Perry unveiled H.B. #3, which taxes the people with the lowest income at an additional 5%, while the taxes get lower further up the income scale… up to $80,000 a year pay 2.66% and those earning six figures get a huge tax cut. Insane.
* Stock market misdealings and decline. Increase in corporate crime. Duh. Enron and WorldCom are just the tip of the iceberg. There will also be a lot of small business failures, factory shut-downs, and construction decline.
* It will come down to cash becoming the only accepted tender.
* Major devastation in California, earthquakes in new areas, record-breaking flooding, soil erosion, intensified hurricane devastation, increased tornado activity and damage, sinkholes, rapid temperature inversion, crippling winters, higher pollution levels, widespread surface blazes, greenish hue to atmosphere. Mt. St. Helens is getting jiggy again, Yellowstone Park is seriously active, and they’re seeing earthquakes on both the southeast and southwest coast of Canada. Expect to see major stuff along the New Madrid Fault.
* Disease outbreaks, rise in homicide/suicide, germ warfare release accident… predicted long before chemtrails, but probably including some more direct and intentional releases intended to kill off large masses of the populace. Given the contempt that the Bush’s neocons have for everyone that isn’t making beaucoups of big bucks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that coming down in the next couple of years.
* No more separation of church and state. As the religious leaders buy and demand influence in the affairs of state, the state will eventually start meddling in church affairs. Religious oppression. More religious groups going to court to force their restrictions on the public. The masses will question all of it… about bloody time.
* Increased UFO sightings and interaction with other intelligences. Just wait till Bush’s guys start seeing the transdimensional aliens that have been hovering around them for years.
* Widespread acceptance of the paranormal and ongoing life after death.
* Nuclear disasters, including several close calls with nuclear power plants. No-Eyes said there will be two catastrophic melt-downs, seeping radioactive dump sites, radioactive pollution of land/rivers, radioactive releases due to geological instability, major accidents during transport of nuclear missiles and/or waste.
* Taxation refusals. War resistance. Draft evasion. People’s revolt and resistance movements. Public’s discovery of coverups. Riots.
* Major upheavals within governments.

We’re pretty much there, gang. Let’s make the best of it. Know where your food is, know your land, know where your water is. Gather and learn all you can about natural curatives. Get into your bliss and gather the true power of the gifts of Spirit while you can. That inner work is your ticket through the mess. A lot of people are becoming awakened nowadays, too. I know because I am making and selling a record number of custom pendulums.

On the other side of all this predicted upheaval, we can expect a greatly whittled-down population to be living in harmony with the land, using non-polluting energy sources, growing their own food, and adapting Native American philosophies and ways of living. It is worth hanging in there for.

“The Mama” as the Ultimate Authority

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Over the years I’ve run into many situations where a mother has one or more indigo children who are inadvertently tracking in ghosts. Several here in Houston, one out near San Antonio, another in California, and the latest I’ve spoken to is out in Montana. In each instance, the mother is frightened out of her wits because the children have either seen, are being harassed by, or are actively playing with ghosts… sometimes all of the above.

In each case, they found me on the web asking for help. Each was fed up with the situation after having to spend night after night with both parents and the kids huddled in a mass in one room because everyone was so scared of a friggin’ poltergeist. Some tried hiring various outsiders to come in and deal with the situation, often with less than useful results. A lady in California offered to fly me out there to handle the situation for her.

In each case, I tuned in to see what was at the basis of the matter, then went into coaching mode to empower the lady in question so that she could take control of the situation rather than the situation controlling her.

I coach them through the smudging technique and tobacco ceremony, then e-mail them the Johrei “white light” symbol so they can print it out and grid the house with it. The main thing is to get them out of fear and into stepping into their true power as “The Mama”.

Truth is, The Mama is the ultimate authority in any household… she holds both the temporal and spiritual power. The Mama is the Goddess incarnate in the form of a human. She brings new life into the house and nurtures it, turns a house into a home, uses her own alchemy to turn bags of groceries into healthy meals, and she is the glue that holds the family together. Nobody outranks the fully-empowered mama. What The Mama lacks in brute strength, she makes up for in tenacity and force of will. If The Mama ain’t happy, then nobody is happy.

Men are intimidated by the power of The Mama… that is why they so often seek to control and abuse the mama, or joke about PMS and stuff like that. Most of the world’s major religions seek to keep The Mama hobbled and enslaved because of her innate power. Kings, prime ministers and presidents come and go, but The Mama rules forever. Every ghost and alien knows this and seeks to exploit any gap in The Mama’s knowledge base.

When The Mama abdicates her power and responsibility, it is usually because of pure ignorance of her power and usually because of a lot of crappy religious programming keeping her from assuming her power. That is a pitiful situation because it puts her and her family at risk.  She cannot allow her authority to be undermined by a two-bit preacher, the mass media, “society” or anything else.

The role of The Mama isn’t strictly about making babies. Look around… there are plenty of breeders out there cranking out little squawkers and letting them run rampant at the local WalMart. Most of the problems we have in our society are because of these breeders cranking out the kids and leaving them to a school system to raise without the ability to impart ethics, morals, spirituality, discipline or even the ability to think straight. Taking the kids to church for weekly programming doesn’t help if the values in the household are not in sync with those teachings… and quite frankly very few are because the standards are so diffuse and open to interpretation. These breeders allow petite tyrant administrators put their kids on psychiatric drugs rather than try to get to the basis of their kids’ problems. These breeders are invariably dismayed when their kids turn up with drug addictions, disciplinary problems, and teen pregnancies.

The Mama is the glue that keeps a family together and teaches the kids the essential knowledge they need to live properly and consciously. If there is abuse in the household, it falls to The Mama to make the hard choices to either take the kids and leave, or extract the abuser from the household. The Mama’s choices have long-term ramifications that last for generations.

When The Mama is in fear, the whole household loses its glue and the stress that imparts to the family is horrific. When The Mama stands up and faces down the threat, like a mama-bear ready to shred any predator, the household and family stands strong.

This one lady with 4 indigo children in west Texas had moved into a house that was haunted. It took a while for that fact to sink in. The kids noticed it first and would go running to their mother for support. It took a while longer for the mother to understand exactly what was going on. In fact, she had to see and feel the poltergeist activity first-hand before it dawned on her that the kids weren’t just being fanciful. She would come home from dropping the kids off at school to find groupings of pretzel sticks spelling out words on the front porch… and the house had been locked up solid. The only bag of pretzel sticks was unopened in the cabinet… but lighter than it should have been. This mother would feel unseen presences getting on top of her when she went to bed… and the list went on. The father did a lot of traveling, and wasn’t up to dealing with poltergeists when he did arrive home. Needless to say, all six of them huddled downstairs in the living room night after night didn’t make it a restful household. I spent several hours talking to the lady on the phone. I walked her through things and she took control. It went from an environment of total terror to her coaching the kids to tell the local ghost (the kids finally named him Bob) that they didn’t want to play with him today. When she understood that his spook had no power that they hadn’t given the ghost themselves, and took a stand, they got downright blasé about it all. They eventually moved out of that rental house into one that better served their needs.

The lady in Montana described her situation. She has what I deduced to be a couple of indigo children, which is to say they are very old souls with heightened psychic abilities, but also a case of amnesia about where they came from. The lady told me that her 6 year old daughter plays with a ghost she named Blue. Her gothy 16 year old daughter brought in a very scary male ghost with an updated version of a Ouija Board. This ghost fairly turns the house upside down most nights, to the point where the two daughters come running into their parents’ room looking for protection, and of course tracking the ghosts in with them. The mother was ignorant as to what to do. At one point, she threw out her entire collection of metaphysical books and all related paraphernalia, went to church, got “saved” and baptized, and STILL not only had the ghost problem but was being judged and insulted by ignorant members of the congregation. I told the lady that she probably threw out the very books that probably could have told her how to deal with the problem. I talked her down from some of the fear and sent her to my blogsite to search for some of my instructional entries on how to handle different paranormal situations, while I e-mailed her the Johrei “white light” symbol to print out and post all over the house. I expect to hear back from her soon.

When I can coach a cowering woman into standing in her power as The Mama, it is a thing of beauty.
