For many millennia, stones have been used to assist healers in their work, both to help them bring up the energy for utilization, and to shield the practitioner from unbeneficial energies.

Since Dr. Mikao Usui brought the energy healing system of Reiki to the world in the late 1800s, and its subsequent migration to the US thanks to Hawayo Takata, the first American and woman Reiki Master. Reiki has since spread throughout the world and has undergone many cross-cultural evolutions to include tweaks from Tibet, Hawaii, Native American and other traditions to expand its knowledge and usefulness to humanity. The basis is the same. The practitioner taps into the Universal Life Force and channels this energy to the client. There are other schools of hand-on energetic healing such as Pranic Healing, Johrei and Therapeutic Touch.

What a lot of energy practitioners may not realize is that they can pick up a variety of difficulties in the process if they do not take steps to shield themselves before beginning a Reiki session. The standard method is mentally (etherically) dropping a ground from the base of the spine to the middle of the earth through visualization, and a brief prayer to shield oneself in God’s White Light. The truth is, this does not always work. The practitioner can be hurried and may not focus correctly, and so may not be shielded from unbeneficial energies. It is also common that practitioners may forget to disengage from the client after the session has ended, often resulting in a loss of energy for the practitioner, and even the practitioner taking on some of the properties of the client’s illness.

I have also run into many instances in which unscrupulous “Reiki masters” did all the attunements and teaching EXCEPT teach the students how to protect themselves, thereby setting the students up for self-destruction and failure… never mind the admonishment to the Reiki master teacher never to edit down the knowledge in self-service. These teachers who do so will find themselves on the receiving end of some very nasty karma.

So here we have a need to package a way to help the practitioner to do 4 things:

*  To spiritually ground and center to bring in the highest and most spiritual energy possible

*  To bring up the kundalini from the earth up through the lower chakras

*  Shield one’s self from unbeneficial energies during the session

*  Make sure that one does not pick up any odd attachments resulting from the session… not just impromptu or intentional cording from the client, but also any transdimensional entities that may have been attached to the client. Two different Defunker Pendants

I found that my “Defunker” pendants do a wonderful job of bringing up the kundalini, protecting, cord-cutting, and sluffing off any funk one may pick up. The higher energies have to come from somewhere else, though.  A larger “Defunker I” pendant is excellent for active use in cutting cords on behalf of the client during an energy work session, to set that client free from etheric entrainment.

Stones that help with bringing up the kundalini are generally associated with the lower chakras, such as Garnet or Carnelian, or other stones that are geared for channeling energies all the way up, such as Kyanite or Selenite.

Different people have found different crystals or stones for bringing in the higher energies, and these must be matched up with the user and the intent. Some will benefit from a star tetrahedron shaped or “Merkaba” crystal wrapped so it will vertically channel the energy. Some gain benefit from a Lemurian Seed Quartz, some from a Laser Quartz, some from a Vogel Quartz.

Others have benefited greatly from the use of stones geared more toward bringing in the divine feminine energies, such as Kunzite or Kyanite. Some will go more for the stones to promote the psychic aspect such as Charoite or Amethyst. Some people will go through a secession of different stones. Everyone has to find the tool that works best for them.
