| I live close to an area where there are several stores that sell handmade native American jewelry. They use all kinds of supplies to create their handmade native American jewelry, including a medication stone in some jewelry pieces. The native Americans attach symbolism to the pieces that they make and every piece of handmade native American jewelry has a significance. Some different styles are called healing gemstone jewelry while other pieces can be described as metaphysical jewelry or even new age jewelry. These creative people use different colors of stones and cords to depict a variety of stories and some handmade native American jewelry pieces have tags attached that explain the significance of certain colors and shapes of their weaving. The stories they tell are of their ancestors, tales of peace and war, love and conflict. Many times they also include their own personal stories in their creations of handmade native American jewelry and they are happy to share their experiences with other people. Their work is beautiful and it is always a treat to be able to add a piece of handmade native American jewelry to a collection. |
