I subscribe to all of these little e-newsletters and courses on manifesting prosperity, and have been collecting books on it for years... it is all really about the same stuff in different packaging, with different terminology. I have even put these concepts into my own e-book called "Fat-Free Spirituality", which I offer through my own website. I thought I would offer a synopsis for you.
The first stage of manifesting your desires is to change your FOCUS. Most people focus on what they DON’T want, or they are focused on the negative experiences of the PAST, or they are busy trying to focus on some imagined future or what MIGHT happen (usually worrying about that). By focusing on what you don’t want, you are attracting more of that. By focusing on an imagined future, you are taking your focus out of the NOW and scattering it to the four winds. Bring it all back to being here NOW and focus on what you are working now to create. Observe your thoughts carefully and police them. Remember that what you focus on NOW becomes your future.
The second stage has to do with defeating the negative self talk. Most self-help plans, whether it is a diet, or other course of action, will be derailed by the fear of change, the desire for instant results (most T.V. shows have resolutions in one episode), we give up too soon, the concept of "trying" instead of "doing"... "trying" just sets you up for failure, but if you say you are "doing", you are setting your focus to win. Your subconscious listens to your outward and inward talk.
At a recent psychic fair I was at, there was a beginning psychic who was just starting to get his feet wet on the circuit and a young lady with an MLM line of jewelry. Both were "trying" so hard to make some sales that neither did very well. After most of the day was slow, the beginning psychic left early, just before a swampload of people came in, and the jewelry lady finally broke even on her booth fee. Granted, this MLM jewelry was not really geared to this new age market and she would have been better served by working some "Tupperware style" home parties. I was there to hang out, get some readings on some new items, and deliver some items to their new owners and pretty much stayed busy in a relaxed manner.
The third stage of manifesting your desires is to focus on WHY you want something, rather than WHAT you want. Money isn’t the end, it is just a tool. It is more powerful to focus and be clear about the benefits, with the ideal images being shown in your head each time to take action towards that goal. Feel that goal. What you are doing is convincing your subconscious mind that what you desire is what you really want, and that is what puts the work order into the Unified Field for fulfillment. This little method alone helps get you over the hurdles. It makes it easier to suspend disbelief and to keep going until you see results.
The trick about this phase is to not focus on the ultimate goal, but to work for small advances. If you look back and see how far you’ve come from your starting point, it is more encouraging because you see more advancement toward your ultimate goal. When you look back, all those little forward steps are really impressive and you will feel proud. If you keep gauging your progress by how far you still are from your ideal (ultimate goal), which is always still on the horizon, you will become disheartened and quit. Over time, the ideal goal will probably change as you have gathered new information. Life is a journey. The journey of 1,000 miles is undertaken one step at a time, so keep focusing on the next step, and the next, and the next...
For example, I have a friend that got into building her renaissance clothing business a little at a time. She made connections to new events at each one she vended at, and now spends her free time building inventory before four different regional faires, and keeping cash flowing in between by vending at a few music festivals. She marvels at how far she’s really come in building her business, and plans on working her "day job" for a couple more years and then switching to being a full-time rennie designer/clothier. I have no doubt she will achieve this. She focuses her efforts fully on the next step while keeping her eye on the goal.
The fourth stage of learning manifesting is more about your emotional frequency. Your THOUGHTS are the first part of the manifesting frequency. The thoughts are the motorcycle you ride. We really are very good at manifesting our thoughts. The second part of the manifesting frequency is the EMOTIONS you have tied to your thoughts, because that is the gas in your motorcycle. This is where the universal "Law of Attraction" really comes into play. Most people really do lead lives of quiet desperation and struggle because that is what they focus on and feel... it is what they have their magnetic frequency set for. When you say and feel you NEED something, you will manifest more NEED.
Wanting something and believing you can have something on a conscious level isn’t enough. You really have to change your energy system, or frequency... to change what you magnetize to come to you. For example, you may have noticed that people who came out of one abusive relationship will attract often another abuser, simply because they haven’t faced their issues and made changes both within and without. It isn’t enough to want another boyfriend, you have to specify what kind of boyfriend is acceptable and be ready to turn away anything not fitting that description.
You can’t wait for this and that factor to fall into line by itself. You have to take the steps, even if they are baby steps, in steady progression to make things happen for yourself.
Once you become aware of your thoughts and focus on what you really do want, then it is impossible to manifest negative results. The more we allow ourselves to unconsciously (automatically, or by default) manifest then the bad results continue to happen again and again. When you train yourself out of that default setting, into being AWARE of what you think and say and what is going on around you, then you get to where all of the bad stuff just falls away.
The greatest power we have in avoiding the worst is to intend for the best to happen. I ask my clients, "If everything were going your way in this situation, what would be the ideal experience for you?" Most people cannot imagine the ideal because they have been programmed to believe that cannot happen for them.
I used to accept this little paradigm (thought form) that said that I wouldn’t get another pile of web orders until the current pile was completed and shipped, and for years it worked that way. I noticed that after some weeks of saying "Oh my gosh, look at all these web orders! I gotta get those done. I gotta get on that. I have to take care of those people", (et-cetera). When I would talk to customers via phone or e-mail, I tell them to take their sweet time getting their money to me because I am swamped with orders and it may take several weeks to get to yours, only to find they would immediately send their money in to get their order into line. Go figure.
When I would talk to customers with a lot of health issues, I would look up some things in some of the books I keep next to my computer, and tell them what books, and where to get the materials for healing themselves, and recommending they do that FIRST to really get on the road back to good health. My goal is to genuinely help them and I believe I am sending them to the best possible sources to help them. I get no money out of referring people to these other companies. I tell them they can always come back for some jewelry later on when they’re feeling better. Most of them order from me first, then look into all the other stuff while expressing gratitude. Go figure. "Holy crap! I’m swamped with orders!"
What I am working towards is going full time with my own business and letting go of the corporate "day job", and I am getting there in increments. Each thing I do adds to my marketability and increases my profitability. It hasn’t happened all at once or all in one year... it has all been a steady progression, and yes, I look back in awe at how far I’ve come.
I hope this is useful to you.
